CHARTTES Training Advisory Council is the Industry Training Advisory Council for the Cultural, Recreation and Tourism industries and community sectors. CHARTTES core purpose is as the principle source of vocational training and employment advice to the NT Government and stakeholders within these industries.
The majority of CHARTTES operation is of a service nature providing an advice and advocacy role to ensure NT representation and perspective in the development of nationally accredited training packages within these industry sectors. In addition CHARTTES undertake activities in the form of project management and research, co-ordination of focus groups, workshops and industry specific projects.
In collaboration with Industry groups and training providers, CHARTTES aims to identify education and training needs, inform and influence policy developers and funding bodies to ensure that the industry and the community are aware of the benefits of participation in the national education and training system.
CHARTTES Training Advisory Council is supported by a management committee drawn from members of the industry and community sectors that it represents. Its coverage includes Creative and Cultural, Sport, Fitness and Recreation, Tourism, Hospitality and Events and Printing and Graphics.
